Choosing Wisely

On October 30, 2014 the CAMO released a list of "Choosing Wisely Canada® Final Cancer List of 10 Low Value, Unnecessary, and/or Harmful Practices". The list identifies Ten Things Physicians and Patients Should Question. Through the Choosing Wisely Canada campaign and the publication of this list, CAMO is helping physicians and patients engage in conversations about potentially unnecessary tests, treatments and procedures, and supporting physician efforts to help patients make smart and effective choices to ensure high-quality care. CAMO joined the campaign because its leadership recognizes that physicians have a professional, moral and ethical responsibility to take the lead in addressing these challenges.

For this release, the Canadian Association of Radiation Oncology (CARO), Canadian Association of Medical Oncologists (CAMO) and Canadian Society of Surgical Oncology (CSSO), have submitted a joint list, facilitated by the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer.
