Accreditation Information

The Canadian Association of Medical Oncologists is an accredited provider under the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and will provide continuing professional development (CPD), and accredit and co-develop group learning events and self-assessment programs with other physician and non-physician organizations.

The CPD Accreditation Committee is responsible for maintaining the accreditation status of the CAMO, and accrediting group learning events and self-assessment programs.

The CAMO ensures that these educational activities align with the Royal College’s “National Standard of Support for CPD Activities” and the Canadian Medical Association’s “Guidelines for Physicians in Interactions with Industry”.

Applications for Section 1, Section 3 Self-Assessment Programs (SAP), and Section 3 Simulation-Based Activities (SIM) accreditation are based on whether your organization is a physician or non-physician organization. Before applying, please review the Royal College definition of a physician organization to follow the proper application process.

The CAMO develops and accredits a limited number of education programs under a co-development process with industry partners or non-physician organizations.

The CAMO periodically implements changes to accreditation processes in response to Royal College revised accreditation guidelines. Please be sure to visit this page regularly to review any recent changes/updates.
