Continuing Professional Development, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University - Specialist Topics in Melanoma

Continuing Professional Development at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, in collaboration with Dr. Kathryn Roth, Dr. Scott Ernst and Dr. Alex Hammond, has created a series of FREE, online modules on melanoma. Two modules review the findings of ground-breaking clinical research on new therapeutic options for the treatment of metastatic melanoma. A third module focuses on surgical management strategies. The modules are provided as short, case-based learning activities worth a total of 2.5 Maincert Section 3 hours – equivalent to 7.5 Section 3 credits.  Click here to access modules.

Melanoma –Recent Advances in Targeted Therapies
This is a 0.75 hour Maincert Section 3 Accredited Self-Assessment program designed to help health care providers recognize common side effects with targeted therapies and identify how best to alter therapy to improve patient outcomes.

Melanoma – Recent Advances in Immune-Checkpoint Inhibitors
This is a 0.75 hour Maincert Section 3 Accredited Self-Assessment program designed to help health care providers recognize common side effects with immune-checkpoint inhibitors and identify how best to alter therapy to improve patient outcomes.

Melanoma – Recent advances in Surgical Management of Primary Melanoma
This is a 1 hour Maincert Section 3 Accredited Self-Assessment program intended for surgeons interested in recent research highlighting the prognostic value of sentinel node biopsy and new evidence on the benefit of total lymphadenectomy for patient survival.
