    The Cancer Care Program of Eastern Health Eastern invites expressions of interest for a locum Medical Oncologist at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre at the Health Sciences Center for the period of March 1 to June 30, 2023.

    The successful candidate will join ten other Medical Oncologists as a full-time clinical equivalent and will be responsible for treating a variety of malignancies, inpatient and outpatient clinical consultation service, as well as on-call service. Oncall coverage will consist of 4 weeks (one week per month) throughout the locum. Candidate will also be expected to participate in relevant peer review and multidisciplinary tumour boards.

    To be considered candidates must hold a Medical Degree, an FRCPC in Medical Oncology or equivalent, and be eligible for licensure in the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador. Clinical expertise in the management of non-gynecological solid tumour malignancies is essential. Working knowledge of Aria software would be considered an asset.

    Our medical oncologists provide care as members of teams, which include nurses, pharmacists, radiation therapists, oncologists, surgeons, social workers, volunteers and palliative care staff. Cancer care is extended to surrounding communities through the Community Oncology Program of Saskatchewan. Participation on clinical trials in collaboration with cooperative groups and industry is a major focus of activity for our oncologists. They are members of cooperative clinical trial groups as Alliance, NCIC CTG, and NRG. Our oncologists are also involved in teaching medical students and residents

    We are currently seeking a full-time, 1.0 APP funded, medical oncologist to join our existing group of four medical oncologists, two hematologists, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, a drug navigator, social workers and dieticians. The position will be split between MSH (80%) and Princess Margaret Hospital (20%) and is expected to start on April 1st 2023. Responsibilities of the successful applicant will include:

    • The treatment and management of patients with a variety of cancer diagnoses in a clinic, office, and hospital setting with a predominant focus on solid tumour oncology (breast, GU, GI, Gyne)
    • Performing diagnostic or therapeutic procedures such as thoracentesis and paracentesis as required. (Interventional radiology assistance is available when needed)
    • Participation on multidisciplinary tumour boards
    • Shared on-call, which includes: seeing new oncology referrals for patients admitted to hospital or the emergency department, support to patients admitted to Oak Valley Health including virtual consultation to Uxbridge Hospital. (There is no responsibility or expectation to do Internal Medicine call)
    • Support the academic mandate which includes the training of family medicine, medical oncology trainees and many other professions, as well as actively expanding its research program including open phase 3 clinical trials

    Qualifications/Experience:
    • An independent license or eligibility for an independent license from the College of Physicians and Surgeon of Ontario
    • Medical Oncology subspecialty certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent qualifications

    The Department of Oncology, Division of Medical Oncology, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario, and its affiliated clinical London Regional Cancer Program, London Health Sciences Centre, are seeking a Medical Oncologist for a full-time clinical academic appointment to the University of Western Ontario. https://www.schulich.uwo.ca/oncology/ Rank (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor) and appointment status (limited term or continuing) will be determined by experience and qualifications at the time of appointment.

    Compensation will be based on qualifications, and experience; and composed primarily of the alternate funding plan and academic support.

    The highest priority needs for the Division of Medical Oncology at this time include the gastrointestinal, genitourinary and breast sites, however, flexibility exists regarding the disease site focus assigned.

    BC Cancer Kelowna Department of Medical Oncology is a regional department serving BC’s beautiful Interior region. Medical oncologists work in the Regional Centre in Kelowna, one of six in BC. 

    Postings: Medical Oncologist - Kelowna, Medical Oncologist or Hematologist – Kelowna, Medical Oncologist - Trail and Medical Oncologist - Kamloops.

    BC Cancer is looking for a full time or part time Medical Oncologist to join our experienced team of two Medical Oncologists and three General Practitioners in Oncology at the McMurtry-Baerg Cancer Centre in Vernon. The McMurtry-Baerg Cancer Centre is a fully staffed Community Oncology Network clinic housed in the Interior Health Authority’s Vernon Jubilee Hospital, a 186 bed Regional hospital offering on-site Radiology, Pathology, Surgery and Pharmacy services.  The Cancer Centre serves a network of local communities with a catchment area of approximately 90,000.  The Centre receives approximately 450 new consults and 6000 follow-ups a year, providing those patients a full range of IV and oral systemic therapies in a personalized practice environment.

    Qualifications include an MD, certification in Internal Medicine, special competency in Medical Oncology/ Hematology (or equivalent), additional specialized training and experience in Malignant Hematology and eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta.
