    The Department of Medical Oncology and Hematology, CancerCare Manitoba (CCMB), in conjunction with Shared Health; and, the Section of Hematology/Oncology, Department of Internal Medicine, Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba (U of M), are seeking applications for a Geographical Full-Time position of Medical Oncologist. Preference will be given to a candidate with specialized training and/or significant experience in treating genitourinary cancers.

    Qualifications: Candidates must have specialty qualifications in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology in the country of current practice and must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Certification in Medical Oncology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is preferred.

    The Gerald Bronfman Department of Oncology, Division of Medical Oncology, McGill University invites applications for two full-time clinician-teacher(s)/clinician-scientist(s) as a member of the Contract Academic Staff at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (rank to be determined based on the chosen candidate’s experience). This position does not confer eligibility for tenure.

    Job Duties

    The candidate will be expected to provide expert clinical care in one or several of the following tumor sites or areas of practice: genito-urinary cancer, central nervous system, lung cancer, drug development.

    They will be expected to undertake research activities, which may include laboratory-based research, clinical or epidemiological research, preferably aligned with the candidate’s clinical activities.

    The candidate is also expected to be actively involved in all aspects of McGill’s academic mission (teaching and supervision of clinical trainees and/or graduate students, and involvement in academic and administrative committees) and will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion in these activities.

    The Saskatchewan Cancer Agency provides leadership in health promotion, early detection, treatment and research for cancer. The Cancer Agency operates two treatment centres: the Allan Blair Cancer Centre in Regina and the Saskatoon Cancer Centre.

    We are looking for a permanent full-time Medical Oncologist to join our collegial group of oncologists and hematologists working in the beautiful and diverse city of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. We are dedicated to providing excellence for our oncology patients. The Saskatoon Cancer Centre provides comprehensive cancer care to those living in the central and northern parts of the province. The successful candidate will be flexible in managing all of the medical oncology solid tumor sites, and their clinic will be built upon site-specific guidelines. The successful candidate must be able to work in a multidisciplinary academic setting, and engage collaboratively with social work, dietitian, and nursing.  We have a strong clinical associate group who provide first call coverage. There are many opportunities for teaching and engagement with the College of Medicine, including at the undergraduate and graduate level. We have a strong clinical trial participation with NCIC.  There is additional opportunity to conduct quality improvement research and clinical trial participation.

    Job Duties: Cancer Agency medical oncologists provide care as members of teams, which include nurses, pharmacists, radiation therapists, oncologists,clinical associates, general practitioners in oncology,surgeons, social workers, volunteers, patient advisors, and palliative care staff. Cancer care is extended to surrounding communities through the Community Oncology Program of Saskatchewan. Oncologists are supported by clinical associates for inpatient and on-call responsibilities. Participation on clinical trials in collaboration with cooperative groups and industry is a major focus of activity for our oncologists. They are members of cooperative clinical trial groups as Alliance, NCIC CTG, and NRG. Oncologists are also involved in teaching medical students and residents.
