Academic Medical Oncologist (Gastrointestinal), Ottawa, ON

The Department of Medicine and the Division of Medical Oncology at the University of Ottawa and The Ottawa Hospital is looking for academic Medical Oncologist to join a group of 28 academic physicians The anticipated start date for this position is July 1, 2026 but is flexible.

Qualifications
The successful candidate must hold a MD degree; be a member of, or be eligible to be a member of, the Canadian Medical Protective Association; have, or be eligible for certification in Medical Oncology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada; have, or be eligible for, licensure in Ontario; and, be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Medicine at the rank of Lecturer or higher. Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. Applicants must demonstrate specialized training and/or significant experience in managing gastrointestinal malignancies. This includes esophageal, gastric, colon, rectal, anal and hepatobiliary cancers.

The University of Ottawa and The Ottawa Hospital are bilingual institutions and therefore in the case of potentially successful candidates of equal ability, a bilingual (French/English) candidate would be preferred.
